Version 1.8.2 – Instagram API Endpoint Deprecation

A new version of the plugin has been released today to deprecate the ‘Users Media’ stream and to remove the ability to get comments and likes for media that doesn’t belong to the connected Instagram user.

Unfortunately the data is no longer available from the Instagram API as they have suddenly deprecated that and other endpoints on the 2nd April. This means if you are using the plugin connected to Instagram with your account but posting media from another user’s account it will no longer work. The plugin allows multiple connections to Instagram so you would need to authenticate with the Instagram account you want to post images from and select ‘My Media’. Comments and likes will still be synced for ‘My Media’ streams.

Unfortunately, the plugin is at the mercy of Instagram’s platform and sudden changes like this affects my customers and my business but there is nothing I can do. 😞

  • Deprecate use of ‘Users’ stream as per sudden Instagram API changes 2rd April 2018
  • Deprecate use of Comments and Likes for media that doesn’t belong to the connected Instagram user as per sudden Instagram API changes 2rd April 2018
  • Bug Fix: Error notices about deprecated wp_theme usage
